Phillips, 76, died at I andrum Route 2 at 2:15 a. m., today after a lingering illness. He was the father of Mrs. B. B. Hester and Mrs. H. C. Moon of Tryon. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at the High _^nd Baptist Church in Upper Sweenville County with the Rev. ^wbert Johnson and Dr. J. Dean ' Crain, officiating. Mr. Phillips was a son of the late Gabriel A. and Harriet Smith Phillips. He had taught in the pub lic schools of Greenville County for 40 years and had served as magistrate of Glassy Mountain district for a number of years. The survivors include his wife, the former Miss Sara Center and It children. The daughters are Mrs. Broadus Howard and Mrs. John Howard of Landrum; Mrs. H. C. Moon and Mrs. B. B. Hes ter of Tryon. The sons are Romaine Phillips of R-2, Landrum; Continued on Back Page_ MRS. DALE P. LITTLE Mrs. Dale P. Little, widow of W. F. Little. Tryon banker, died around noon Tuesday at St. Luke’s Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the Church of the Holy Cross with the Rev. Dr. George Farrand Taylor, officiating in the absence from the city of the rector, the Rev. Charles L. McGavern. Mrs. Little is survived by three sons, Franklin of Andrews; James of Chapel Hill and Robert Dale Little of Roanoke, Va.; one grand son, Arti Little, of Roanoke and one brother, Robert Pritchett, of St. Louis, Mo. Mrs. Little was prominent in the women’s work of the Episcopal Church and the Tryon P.-T. A., a.n<? ,vari°us other community ac tivities from time to time. WILLIAM BELTON FAGAN William Belton Fagan, 82, of the Green Creek community on Campobello RFD No. 1, died Wed nesday at 3 a. m., at the home of his son, Curtis W. Fagan. Mr. Fagan was a life long resi dent of the Green Creek com munity in Polk County and was a member of Green Creek Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Chester and Elizabeth Black wood Fagan. His wife, Lovie Ann Walker Fagan, died 40 years ago. r uneral services will be con ducted Thursday at 4 p. m., at Green Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. W. W. Reece, pastor, and the Rev. C. A.
